Eco-Physiological and Productive Response of Deficit Irrigated Potatoes

چکیده

A comprehensive study on both the eco-physiological and productive response of potatoes to dynamic deficit irrigation is lacking. Therefore, aim was study, over two growing seasons potato cultivars—Arinda Timate, effects five regimes (I0–dry control, I1—irrigated I2—supply 100% maximum evapotranspiration—ETm from tuber initiation up 50% growth 0% ETm end growth, I3—supply I4—supply 75% growth) simultaneously crop physiology (via chlorophyll fluorescence leaf gas exchange traits), above-ground biomass yield, yield its components, water use efficiency (IWUE), source/sink ratio tubers’ dry matter content. Regardless cultivars seasons, in I3 I4 for traits, values comparable with I1 were found. Compared I1, I2 reduced by about 18% but increased IWUE 110%, saving a high amount (about 1500 m3 ha−1 per season). Arinda appeared more susceptible than Timate second part namely I2, an point view, no differences between found view. It possible effectively apply save without compromising yields strongly.

Weed Control with Cover Crops in Irrigated Potatoes

Field experiments at Oakes, ND, USA in 2010 and Carrington, ND, USA in 2011 were conducted to evaluate the potential for cover crops grown in the Northern Great Plains, USA in order to reduce weed emergence and density in irrigated potatoes. Treatments included five cover crop treatments and three cover crop termination treatments. Termination of cover crops was done with glyphosate, disk-till,...

Genetic Analysis of Response to Water Deficit Stress Based on Physiological Traits in Wheat

Dehydration is the most important limiting factor in agricultural production in arid and semi-arid regions, and water shortages (especially at the reproductive stages) due to lack of precipitation and unequal distribution are inappropriate for limiting the yield. In this research, cross between the Gasspard cultivar (dehydrated susceptible parent) and DN11 line (resistant parent) was performed....
